I am wondering what was used to mark all the equipment Boxes, chests, etc. I appears that it was stencils but what kind?? I would like to re-mark my Bren chest and Nr. 8 Vickers ammo box but need to know what to use. I have a set of U.S. GI stencils but they are not correct. Does anyone have any ideas? Chuck what hieght do they need to be? Somewhere I've sets of 2 inch and 1.5 inch issue tinplate stencils tha' can borrow.
Tom
Also I think they are shown on the DD(E) of the Mk II chest 2998, if you blow up the relevant sections you could make a one off stencil that way.

Hi Chuck I've dug out my issue stencils and I have
50mm Capitals and numbers True 2 inch, Capitals and numbers 1.5 inch Capitals and numbers but missing A and N 1 inch Capitals and numbers but missing #1
I'm going to stick them on a scanner with a ruler and record them. Anchor supplies used to have a box of loose stencils so I may be able to fill the gaps, if not I'll make some.
