Now now, don;t get carried away with the post counters - they can be turned off you know!!!
I suppose I ought to go and have a look at my two Brens and get the SNs for you.
Right here they are:
Mk. I - A7122 Mk. II - 14T3752
I noticed on the WWII Reenacting forum that you wanted tripod SNs as well, so my tripod SN is:
'covered in paint' - I will have to take a wire brush up and get it for you.
Glad you like the new forum,
Rich

Hi Rich, great site!! Is your mk1 Brit or Aussie? I'm guesing Enfield, also is it '38 or '39? And what date is your Inglis, Its either '44 or '45, these numbers could help put a lot of unknown numbers into the right date catogory.
Cheers,

Your welcome, the Mk. I is Aussie and is dated 1943. The Mk. II will be checked when I go up and get the paint off the tripod to see what that SN is.
To be honest, and I will probably be scared out of my own forum for saying it but I have never really been too bothered about the Bren so was very happy with an Aussie gun (hey, it was free - RIP Doug Preece) so wasn;t going to argue. I only bought the Mk. II because it was cheap and I fancied it at the time. I will get a Mk. 3 at some point but the Vickers has to come first I'm afraid.
Cheers,
Rich

Doug Preece gave it to me as an incentive to write the Bren Gun site as he had got so much business from the Vickers site in the two years it had been running. It is just a shame to think that he still isn;t getting the business today. The Mk. II was deac'ed in 2002 by 'Kent Exports UK'. Rich.

Ugh, serials eh, that will mean braving the mice on the top floor and digging out my Brens. So its serial, country of origin and year?
I would do the same for the Vickers-Berthier but I think I may be the only idiot with any! :-{D)
The sites a definate improvement, well done!

Tom, I'm sending Mr P Piper round, he's a pest control expert. Despite the annoying flute/ recorder/ Pipe playing he's very good at his job. He comes highly reccomended!

I hope he comes with some ceramic plate as they have been up there for 6 months with 14 LMGs and the rest and my tool "collection"! (Re Tools, using them would only get them dirty!)
