Hopefully, in the very near future I should be able to offer reproductions for sale of a period poster relating to the Machine Gun Corps in WW1. For all those who have copies of Goldsmiths "Grand Old Lady", this will be a near full-sized (slightly under A3) colour copy of the (complete) poster shown (partially cropped and in black and white) on page 81. For those who don't have the book, it depicts two oversized cheerful looking MGC soldiers, one carrying a Vickers gun and the other with its tripod, walking across the face of the world, with the caption "Travel All Over The World With THE MACHINE GUN CORPS" above and below them. As far as I'm aware, I will be the first person to offer these since the end of the First World War.
Now, I'm looking to get an initial order of about 10 printed, as this will greatly reduce the associated printing costs, but if demand is great enough I will probably get more printed up, so I'm looking to see how much initial interest there is for buying them. At the moment, it looks like the poster would cost around £5.00 (including a postal tube, but not postage costs, which would be at price to wherever it's wanted).
If you are at all interested in one (not necessarily a firm commitment at the moment), please can in touch by email (at AndrewNOUptonSPAM0307@aol.com removing the NO SPAM), so I can get potential printing numbers together and a firmer idea of price.
Andrew Upton.

Off to the printers tomorrow morning, looking at an order of 20 at the moment due to demand, fingers crossed the posters turn out ok as there's been quite a lot of interest!

Another update…
Thanks to everyone who has expressed an interest in the posters and wished me well in the project, there has been considerably more interest than I had anticipated, and my apologies for not personally answering any emails, personal messages or replies so far, as I have also been in the process of developing some other reproduction WW1 paperwork as well as helping to redecorate our house, so things have been a little hectic!
First, the good news. On Friday afternoon I took possession of 25 copies of the poster, and they look very nice indeed, and hopefully tomorrow morning I should have 25 postal tubes delivered, so I can begin to work out how much postage in the UK will cost (plus outside the UK for those “colonials” who have also expressed interest).
Some slight bad news though – the printing cost I was quoted initially turned out to be for their very cheapest paper, which really wasn’t suitable for a poster, so I had to pay slightly more per print than I had expected. This means that I have had to revise the cost of a poster and poster tube to £5.50 (50p more than my initial estimate), which hopefully should not put off those who have expressed interest at the early price.
If there is anyone who, for whatever reason, who has expressed interest but is no longer interested please let me know.
Thanks once again.

Apologies again for the lack of updates recently, due to a combination of redecoration and illness, but I have finally found out how much postage will cost for one poster and its tube within the UK - £1.30.
I have selected five people who were interested in buying one of the posters and who were also in the UK (for convenience) to test the posters out on, and will be contacting them shortly with further details.
Andrew Upton.

Apologies once again for the lack of updates, but I’m fully up to speed once more. Since all the feedback I’ve had from my test posters has been good (feedback can be seen below), I’m ready to begin contacting people who have expressed interest with details of postage cost and the like, and will be working through the list in chronological order. 1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61488.
