Thanks cmpman, I didn't think the Stens would have had a decal, but I wanted to check just in case.
I've used the modelmaking decal film before for other purposes and it's a useful product.

A few pics of the AK mag conversion hope these are of help Mongo ? Pic showing milled out mag well walls (7.92 ejector and catch still in place) Lengthened 7.92 ejector and spring inserted. 7.62 ejector block inserted in top and slid back to engage into mag cover slot and then back further to compress spring. Ejector block fully pushed back so pin can be pushed through to retain assembly. Magazine inserted Picture from below looking up to inserted magazine Tell tale ringing of bored and sleeved barrel. Standard piston post top bottom shows piston post with a second bent ground into it. ATB Kevin

Thanks for the pictures. The conversion is identical to that done by the Chinese on the ZB26.

Rod could you post some pictures of your when you get it especially the chamber of the barrel (mines obviously been vandalised) and the ejector block as I have seen a few different patterns of these.
Any news of yours cmpman ?
Mongo any chance of some pics of your ZB26 conversion in the ZB section ?

I got an email yesterday from my dealer that it has arrived. I'm a bit under the weather right now (Bronchitis always seems to hit when the temps cross the 0C mark) so I told him it would be a day or two before I got out there to deactivate it.
His response was:

The wood on the gun looks mint at least from what I can tell from the pics. Yes I would love to see more as well. Turn the flash on, use the camera's internal timer and you'll have some great pics.

The offer of showing me how to take photos is appreciated Craig. Maybe once you shovel all that snow you just received you can come on out and show me. That other Bren mk1 is not a Bren mk1. It is a mk1m interim. It does not have the little dimples machined in to the front like the mk1s would have. Besides, you had your chance to get a mk1 from me at Brandon last year, and hesitated. And you know what they say about he that hesitates.....

Kev: What is the purpose of the second bent in the piston post? I realize we are talking 7.62x39 conversion. I believe I have 4 piston's (2 from 8mm guns and 2 from conversions) but can only find one right now and it is not the modified one like yours. The gun fires but needs maximum gas settings. Also, my ejector block (again, I have 2 but can only find one) is slightly different and has an internal spring for the mag catch so I've never used the external one you show in the above photo. Should I find one and use it? Also, there are no tell tale rings on the sleved barrels. They have been refinished. If I look at the chamber end, I can see where the 7.92 barrel has been drilled and sleeved. Photos coming sooner or later.

Hi kgp, thanks for sharing your photos The pupose of the new formed bent on the piston extension of converted 7.62x39 guns is to allow the sear in the trigger mechanism to engage in single shot. With the lesser powered 7.62x39 round there might not have been enough gas pressure to throw the piston /piston extension far enough back to engage in the original bent to hold the action open. I like the 'greedy' AK mag ;D ATB Kevin
