Not sure if we are talking about the same model of tripod, but BGS has good pics of ZB30s on tripods in service in figs 36 and 37 and a partial in fig 43a.
Cheers

Kev, you mentioned post-war Czech catalogues in your last post. Do the same catalogues have any info on post-war production of the ZK383 submachine gun? My one is a Venezuelan Police contract with the folding bipod but I have no idea whether it is pre or post war production. It is in near-new condition apart from a couple of very minor dings on the stock, and a beautifully made gun.

Cheers Peter I have never found out a model number for the basic ZB26/30 tripod you refer to in the BGS. The model 206 as offered with the ZGB and Czech Bren derivatives and some versions of the ZB30 I have only seen pictures 'in use' with the ZGB. Rod I will see what is listed for the ZK383 and report back. ATB Kevin

Sorry for misidentifying the tripod, which is the 206, but none have ever shown up on the surplus market. I have been looking for one for over twenty years, but have never heard of one in private hands in the US, seen any in museum collections in the US, or seen any for sale anwyhere. Although they might have been offered in the catalogues, if they were sold then they should show up somewhere I would assume.
Thanks for posting the video of the Czech Bren demo! That was really fun to watch. I like the soldier dropping the gun into the water in the ditch. Thought he'd shoot it on the top of the bank to show how it would shoot without cleaning, etc, but they had a different location when they shot it again. Not very convincing!
Later,
Bob

thanks. I spent many hours at the Tojhus museum in Copenhagen while working there for several months at a time in the late eighties and early ninties. Fabulous collection of weapons of alltypes and sources!

If you can't find a ZB39 bipod get a Bren MKI item and scrub off the markings. ZB39 magazines for 8x56R should be in abundance this summer in the UK as a consignment of them just been imported.
303 Bren mags will fit it you file the front face of the body locking lip down to make it shorter, though I can't see them functioning properly ?
