Kev! I think you should now go through all threads that mention this and edit them as you are obviously the uncrowned Spellcheckmeister. Regards Matt

Sold a Bedford truck! Is this a mutual friend not far from me?

It is a mutual friend who recently sold a truck but not Tim. He's got the Pack to play with, why would he want something so puny as a Boys! (It would fit in the car better)
The clue as to who it is is "Sosaboksi's brother"

Didn't the earliest manuals call it Boyes? I would think this is where the longterm confusion came from. Later manuals merely called it the anti-tank rifle.

Is your manual that you posted a reprint or an original? I've seen that example before when I was doing research for the Boys chapter in my weapons book but only found reprints. Figure someone that created the reprints made the cover themselves as I have seen similar oddities with other reprint or fantasy type manuals.
Just curious.
In one of my U.S. compilation books on weapons that was written during the war, the author indicates something along the lines of the weapon being miss-named as it really is to heavy for a "boy". He apparently didn't know it was a persons name.

MkVsten/Brad: You forgot the Cooey manufactured .22 cal subcaliber rounds. You will want a magfull of those as well. Won't give the same kick as the .55 ammo, but at 2 cents a round, the economy of shooting .22 is attractive. I was lucky enough to actually find one with it's centerfire/rimfire adapter still in it. weaponsonline.proboards76.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=sales&thread=1142867584&page=1Above link was an ad Horsa placed on the board last year (or so). It had just about all the Boys stuff a guy could want. Of course, I wanted it and bought almost all of it.

From my personal experiance of 70 or so rounds through the Boys rifle, that method shown above has got to be hard on the shoulder. Without the weight of the body to counter the recoil, I would think it would give one heck of a shove.
At a demonstration about 9 years back, I fired 10 rounds through mine. I was wearing the tropical shorts and rolled up shirt sleeves, and was laying on dry, scrubby grass. When I stood up, my elbows and knees were bleeding from the recoil.

Hi MkVsten just been tidying up and I discovered that I've still got 2 NOS Brush, Bristle Mk I. I'll keep one but the other I'd be happy to trade if you haven't since found one.
