Hi guys
Does anyone have any information about this variation of the VZ 37 HMG? I understand it was used in fortifications and had a very heavy barrel for sustained fire.
Are there any here in the UK? and if anyone has one i would love to buy it! ;D
Cheers Rob

Yes this was the fixed variant ,with heavy smooth barrel for fortifications.I'm fairly sure the basic gun is the same and I suspect that after the German ocupation, most of these guns were removed. I know that a number went to Norway and were presumable used in static fortifications there. Smaller forts used standard guns on removable tripods that could be used outside. It would have made sense to rebarrel a lot of the fortress guns, so they could be used normally.I think this variant is pretty rare today, pete.

There are Zb-37 "parts sets" in the U.S. with the bunker barrels and the bunker tripods. Check Centerfire Systems in Kentucky. The recievers are cut into 4 chunks but could be welded up enough to make a display. Barrels are drilled.

New member here, I'm located in the US. This is a picture of my VZ37, also known as a ZB37 here in the states. It is a re-welded semi-automatic and functions flawlessly. Hope you enjoy the picture. Regards, CaptMax

Nice! Did you do the rebuild yourself? No I actually had Wiselite Arms of Boyd, Texas build it. They were the only ones in the United States who had an approval letter from the BATF government agency. It was a very labor intensive build. I have done re-welds before but this was an expensive kit I didn't want to mess up. CaptMax
