I am looking to pick up a good condition Mk1 barrel. Anyone know where I can get one? Also, will a MK2 barrel work in a Mk1 receiver?
Thanks

Hi d65,it may help you to get a better response if you edited you profile to give others a clue as to which country you are in.

Canadian and Australian pattern Mk2 Barrels work better as they have a location slot underneath the barrel to mate them to a MkI receiver.

Helston gunsmiths in the UK will have them if you can't get them more locally

Hi If Heston Gunsmiths carry them as stock, does anyone know if they sell a Deactivated version for the UK market. Thx

I wouldn't recommend the IMA mk1 barrels. I ordered one last year and received a beat up piece of garbage with DP painted all over it. Needless to say, it was promptly returned. I've purchased many quality items from IMA, but I can't endorse their bren barrels.

Hi Dwainhicks.
If you need a de-ac barrel, I can possible get you one. In a couple of weeks I've got someone going down to helstons for me to collect a gun, so could get one picked up for you then. It would be a month or so before you could get your hands on it though as I would have to get it deactivated first, and also proofed so as it's legal.
let me know.

I was worried after the posting about IMA, have had the same experiences with other products from them...superior or crap...seems to go by who ever is packing...I had ordered two barrels, a MkI and a MkII to complete the bag and to tap the II for a shredder for blanks...they came in yesterday...both were in super condition, the MkII looks to be unissued, I'll be using that one instead of the one that came with the kit for live-fire...the MkI would be NRA good or better...I guess it still comes down to luck of the draw...good luck...
