Hello folks I can now call this previously wanted!Wanted - Not quite the impossible - a Bren Drum magazine, would be spanky if it came with an adapter. Scour your sheds and search your hearts, someone must have one or know of one thats for sale. Pretty please? Go on, you know you want to. Please don't post things like "oh International had some a while back....or tell me other times when I must have missed out! Thats not helpful to my therapy. Regards Matt Gibbs

George; Your post is noted, with some anquish. I sold my set of 4 last year [though I now wish I had not] so perhaps you'll understand why it made me bash my head on the computer desk. Hold that thought though. I would hate to be responsible for breaking up one of those fine sets if I could help it. Regards Matt Gibbs

Ok, well, like all collectors we go through phases of prioritising. I have a new addition to the family and I agreed to weed out some of my collective stuff to maintain peace and harmony at home. It is a process I am still going on a year down the line, but now I can afford to prioritise things better. I have collections of all kinds of associated stuff, I love old technology. I had 4 classic cars and not enough room for everything I had. Amongst other things I decided to sell some of my WW2 collection, I also collect badges and other smaller more poratble items, so some of the 'hardware' items went on the sales list.
A certain forum member was lucky enough to aquire them, and quite understandably he wants to hang onto them. I know now that if I come across another set and purchase them I shall not let them go to anybody. I realise now that some things you should just not let go, but at the time we don't always see that. If I hear of a set of 4 and I cannot afford them all I shall certainly consider splitting it up in the light of much thought and the lesson I have learned, because I could always budget and go looking for single ones again later in life. Kind regards Matt

Matt u r right. Unfortunately I am collecting too many things as well. Because I had the same problems as you I decided to sell the entire collection of mine, I call it weaning. Now I am not able to start again so I am not thinking about it. Life is full of sacrifices.
As about the drum mag, I am looking for two sets (mag+adaptor), I know that I am greedy but there is nothing wrong about dreaming. Machinegunnest are selling a Bren with a set of them. I emailed them but without any response. You can try as well m8.

*chuckle* Yes indeed, Drum Mags do "seem to be SO last year dahlink".... ok, sorry about the joke. Lets hope some turn up out of the woodwork this year. I've emailed about a dozen UK dealers lately so who knows. One came back to me that he had been offered some Museum Quality replicas but no info on where from. Kind regards Matt Gibbs

Hmmm interesting. Regards Matt Gibbs Hey guys, any news about that advertisment? He asked for 390 quids, is that a reasonable price? Well i can 'smell' that someone from the forum has already got it, waiting to hear the details.....

Hmm, I'm not sure about smelling someone off the forum got it. Maybe you can just smell that oily wax paper smell? I haven't got one yet, thinking about it. This chap has more than one, thats let the secret out I guess. He seems reputable from what I hear. I'm not sure whether its a reasonable price. I think many people now appreciate these are hard to find and price them accordingly. Anyone care to mention the last time they saw dealers advertising any? I have personally emailled over 30 dealers world wide about Bren drums and the answer is always not had any for ages, not seen any for ages, not been offered any. Unless someone knows more? Regards Matt Gibbs

Well Matt I cant say u r wrong, its hard to get these days. But it was the same for the adaptor as well and i got one for $30 from ima as everybody did. So I think that 400 pounds is too much and it is not in nice condition as well. I have heard the price of 500 or 600 pounds for the whole set of four with one adaptor and the wooden box in the past of course. Now 400 for only one it looks expensive to me. Thats my thoughts anyway. There must b some unopened boxes somewhere......I can smell the oily waxed paper....hehe
