Hi, A curiosity. A Belgian 50 rounds ammo box for the MG08/15. Probably used during exercices to avoid great expenses of ammunition. Fabric belts were cut in 5 pieces of 50 rounds each. As far as I know, there is no Belgian 50 rounds belt.

Great image. Is this a Reichswehr 08/15 or one used by Belgians after capture. I see WWI pieces and of course the rain cover - is that German? Would love to see other views if possible? mark.finneran@hotmail.co.uk VMT Mark

Hi, Some other views. Markings: Spandau 1917, N° . 441b (first digit not readable), cal. 7,92 mm. Not converted to Belgian 7,65 mm. Hose is from Indian River and sling is an adapted Mosin-Nagant one.

Hello, using google this website showed up when searching more information about a ammo box. Can someone of you confirm that this is a Belgian 50 rounds ammo box for an MG08/15 ? Is there more information about it?

Is there more information about it? I have never seen one of those boxes before but it certainly appears that it would fit the 08/15 drum bracket. Dolf Goldsmith's Maxim book makes no mention of them. I think you have found a real treasure!
