MG08 curiosa

Hi,
This cartridge retrieval tongs are - originally? - equipped with a broken shell extractor. Don't know if it is a current item. I saw another one in a museum in Belgium.
Could be made by an armourer on the field. Any idea?

Neat find!!!! I think some of the later (1930's) ones were made with that.
