Does anyone know where the latest batch of Lewis Guns for sale at Beltring this week have come from? Nepal as a source was denied.

Possibly Pakistan. I had a conversation with a Pakiston MoD rep a few months back identifying the potential availability of a number of weapons and Lewis guns were included in the list of items; however, it does seem a little quick.

Richard
From memory the last batch of Vickers Guns which Fire Power/IMA had were ex-Pakistan.
Are you able to comment of what else they may have?

Having been to beltring today I also noticed a lot of Lewis' around, chatting to one dealer I heard he had already sold 3 at £3750 a pop!

WWA's won't be saying where they are sourced from until they have bought up all the remaining stock.

Someone else suggested WWA at the show as the main supplier, but the lack of any on their store unless they had already sold them seemed to point against this.
The one dealer I spoke to suggested that there was reasonable number in this batch so quite if the £3,000 plus figure will hold up will be interesting to see.
Hopefully at this price and with the current pound dollar rate none will go to the states to be cut up to meet their deact spec's.

They had allready been sold out to the trade before the show, their own retail stock had also been pre sold.

I was chatting to another dealer today who said some of the Pakistan batch are aircraft guns which should be interesting to see.

to those that went, saw and came back, what was the condition of the guns that were at Beltring ? were they ex-WWA stock that dealers had purchased earlier in the year and held back for July ? traces of khaki paint ?

more to the point, does anybody know the whereabouts of a lewis tripod adaptor for the vickers mount ? www.wdmilitaria.co.uk has one that is mental money ( they cannot be that dear ) . at the last pomona gun show there were quite a few of them and a lot cheaper.

Hey, thanks for the picture of the Lewis guns!!! I notice all the drums have had the white paint removed, I'd understood that all issue drums had the white paint on them, to show the rear of the drum; is there a reason why they would have done that???
Very interesting, they look to be in good shape. Too bad they're deacts, that's sad, especially Lewis Guns in England!
