Hi Folks
well, it just goes to prove you can't do Beltring at all properly ina single day. I did find some nice small bits and some bargains but I failed miserably to find some stuff that by all rights should have been there like d**n Mk 2B or 5 Bren cleaning rod. I was offered one battered Aussie Mk 2B for 35 quid but declined!
Anyways i am now not far off being able to red back the UK CES for the M1919A4 but failed to find a few small bits.
If any of our fellows over the pond can source me the following I would be profoundly grateful, have Bren swaps or paypal.
Can, tubular 3/4" x 2 9/16th inch) 1005-00-614-7310 B147310
a minty Tool Roll M12 (50s or earlier date) D7389, Also does any one have a pic of the contents of the said Roll please?
Brush cleaning small arms, Cal .30 1005-00-550-4035 AND 1005-00-556-4174
and a Brush B108828, 11 inch long tapering bristles and a loop at the other end.
If you can help out please drop us a line.
I did manage to score some 2" bits, although not all I was after. Dave whats his name (Kev?) had the folding barrel brushes for 5 quid a pop, very nearly new, or will be when I have degreased the bristles and I did find one early 2 piece rod and brush on a stall but had to pay through the nose for it. I'm actually embarrased how much! For a bog brush!
by the by if anyone has a unissued post war Mk 3 oil cans i'll be happy to swap for a unissued wartime centre seam tin plate job as i can now make up a 50's mortar roll. I also saw a third web pattern of roll but some uncaring squaddy had written all over it and then not used it! If anyone knows of any made out of 58 pat type material with internal divisions different to the WWII or the later nylon version I'd be very grateful to know where they are!
