In a deal for a live vickers gun, I recently aquired with it a sa 308 conversion with 2 barrels, lock, feedblock and suprise, no links. Is there anything that will run in these besides the sa link. What about cutting the finger off of m-60 links and handling them carefully so you dont jog the rounds loose? I dont really plan to shoot 308 right now in her, but I would like to know if I could if 308 ever becomes economical again. If not are these things worth anything without the links? Thanks

I have no idea if this would work 100% as I haven't seen a .308 feed block but I would think that a 8mm Turkish (aluminum) maxim belt would work.... Please... someone else pipe in that is smarted than me BTW... YOU SUCK ;D

Hi jmann I seem to be the only source of 7.62mm Vickers links and have supplied a few US based collectors/shooters to keep them going. I am short right now and only have sufficient for my own needs but will keep you in mind for when I find another cache. I have orders for a few thousand with feed tabs which I must fill first but am sure I can help you eventually. Do not despair! BTW - does your gun have wooden or plastic grips? Peter Wells

Peter, Thank you for looking out for me. I do appreciate it. My gun is a vsm gun that went to portugal during ww1. It has wooden grips and a fluted jacket. The 308 conversion was part of the goodies that came with the deal. 2 barrels in a tube and a lock and feedblock in a box. Both were return addressed to Peter Kokalis and the previous owner had never opened them. He said there werent any links included when he bought it. Do you think my Idea of trimming the finger off a m-60 link would work? I know the belts would be somewhat fragile but they couldnt be anymore troublesome than the british 303 on factory belts. That stuff falls out of the belt if you look at it wrong.
