I discovered ZGB33 #67 while visiting our Special Forces Museum in Pretoria on Friday. Still live with spare barrel and in great condition - original comercial type blue just as gorgeous as the others . This is one of the 15 guns and "appurtenances" received here in South Africa in 1935. Tom - could you please pass on to Peter L for his records. Ta.

A very nice find Peter ! Would love to see some pictures Are there any of the original magazines for any of the ZGB's in SA ? Or any original kit that came with them ? Well done for finding a very interesting and rare bit of history

Good spotting Peter! I assume that the first ones started at 001 and continued until at least 096, without sequence change as the various changes and modifications were introduced. It would be interesting to know how many ZGB33's still existed, and at what serial numbers changes were introduced. I wonder if PL has that sort of detail in his book? How many ZGB's are on the forum database?

Thanks Rod - a labour of love! Peter L has a separate list of ZGBs, separate from the BREN list, but whether or not it will be in his book I can't say. It seems that all the guns here are identical and a contiguos block of numbers. I haven't yet (!), knowingly found any correct mags or accessories but I'm not finished yet. If there are any available elsewhere I would be very keen. Cheers all.
