I am looking to get a 'Sokolov' (I think that's the right term) wheeled mounting as used for the 1910 Maxim. I have just acquired some interesting photos of the Vickers being mounted on them and would like to replicate it.
I don't know if there are any 'spare' and cheap around in the UK but would be interested to hear if anybody knows of one.
Regards
Richard

No dealer in the UK has the mounts for sale without the guns.
IMA have them in the states but I assume the postage would be prohibitive.
For your use an early production model would also be more appropriate.

No dealer in the UK has the mounts for sale without the guns. There seemed to be one for sale at Detling this weekend - a crated mount on it's own, alongside a number of guns on mounts, so I wouldn't say it would be impossible for one to turn up on its own. Target Arms I think it was, but I didn't look up the price on it, so as to cheap...

I think you are talking about Ryton Arms who had a mount in its box.
You can try asking but I would be very supprised if the Ukrainians supplied more mounts than guns.
