I just picked up a Vickers Mg and it looks like the one on the left in Richards Pictures of Machine Guns I found a Serial# on the Water Jacket it is 5522 Can anyone tell me something as to when made Etc

Hi, Dabug,
I would like to help you. Is there a letter before the serialnumber? And is your Vickers an Australian one (small marking MA and date in two digits) or a "British" one (markings VSM, ...)? Smooth waterjacket or not?
