Yours looks similar to mine. I believe that mine is original but may have been a Maxim tripod that was converted instead of a Vickers one. I don't think the Brits cared when they got rid of the guns and gave them what they had. My tripod also does not have the AA rear leg for storage. There are plenty of Brit proofs on it as well. Besides the repaint here are some photos for your enjoyment ;D

Thanks. The one I have also does not have the AA leg. I'm sure the tripod I have is of Colt (or possibly Springfield Armory) manufacture. I’m assuming that Britain just assembled the Vickers shipment to turkey from what they had on hand which included recently received US guns. I’m also beginning to think that not all Turkish Vickers tripods were fitted with longer legs. Does this make sense?

Seems fair to assume that. Does your tripod have any markings? On the rear leg pivot pin? ( like mine?)

Mine is only marked with a broad arrow, crown, and '41 on the top.
