Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town
All the people slept off the booze they'd poured down
A sleigh coasted in when suddenly 'smack'!
A box full of Bren drums fell off the back
'O bugger' said Santa and got off to check
When a Mk1 Bren tripod fell on his neck
Then a box labelled 'Kevin' slipped and broke free
It bounced off the runner, smashing his knee!
It shattered on impact and out fell a gun,
A ZGB33 with the note 'Have some fun!'
Rudolf backed up to steady the load
and a Vickers for 'Richard' slammed onto the road.
A parcel for 'Tom' fell onto the snow
And there on the ground lay a Vickers GO!
And so it went on for a minute or more,
And if in the morning there's a knock at the door
To reveal a wet Santa in need of some drying,
Forget all the presents - just thank him for trying!
