Ok, does anyone have pictures of the Wooden drum box for the Lewis? I've seen some photos from the war that look like they were in use, if they're what I'm looking at? I am curious if these are out there. I'm not talking about the small trunk to carry the canvas carriers in, but rather then box that was to hold a number of lewis drums in the field, originally brought out, I think, in 1915?

Hi Glen, I have an original British chest for twelve drums with a Birmingham maker's stamp and rope handles. I have never had any luck posting photos here but if you'll e mail me: mg08 at comcast dot net I'll take some photos for you. Cheers Harry
