Hi folks i've been sewing again... At Abingdon airshow I picked up a PLCE bergan pocket yoke and with a certain amount of midnight oil I turned it into quite a convincing 8 yr olds PLCE set yoke. The holster was a pound 2 Beltring back, the rear pouches £5 from a army stores closing down sale and the belt £1 on Accrington flea market. He's chuffed with it anyway. The same stall had a pile of new body armour covers in very small sizes for £4 a pop so I cut up a knackered carrimat to make a filler for one. I'm still trying to source a Airfix L1A1 SLR (not a MIB one as they go for huge amounts) unless someone knows of a 2/3rd sized SA80, minimi or GPMG? Also I'm looking for a S6 (?) chinstrap to fit to the helmet, if anyone knows of any spare ones? ATB Tom

Nice.... next thing you know, your "extra" kit will go missing and end up in his "collection"

Ha! At the airshow a couple of squaddies loaded him up with a full set of the current kit including a set of armour and said he could have it if he could out run them, he could hardly stand but he made a game bolt for the exit much to everyones amusment. They thought he was joking!
Helmet chin strap now sorted. I had to pop rivet on 3 anchor points to the helmet and swapped the 2 D ring closure with a ladderlock buckle as they had gone rusty but it looks the part.
Just need to source a decent UK issue long in 2/3rd scale. All there seams to be are AKs and M16s.

Last pic , I promise! Helmet done. Still can't find a 2/3rds sized UK long. ATB Tom PS where would you sew a name tape on the lightweight vest cover? The big pocket flap seams the logical place...? What , if anything, do the Mercian Regt have on their sleaves badge wise? on his old combat jacket he has the old Woofers red and green diamond.

Until the start of last year I was a house husband so I had all the domestic stuff down pat, I even baked, the lot. When the youngest started school they dragged me back to work, kicking and screaming, and all the research, scanning documents and swanning around the Pattern Room suddenly stopped due to lack of time.
I now haven't even made one of my silly balsa and tissue planes in16 months, thats how little time I get to myself (sniff, throws Teddy right out of the pram, etc).
Yup, will be at Beltring on the Friday and Saturday, the former with herslf and two youngest kids. Ted will be dessed up and I will probably have my wiskers trimmed especial!
