Hello,
I am new to the forum, having only just discovered it.
I have a 1941 MKI EFD Bren with a MKII Butt stock which I would like to remove.
I have seen an earlier thread, discussing the removal of Buttstocks but the diagram shows only the MkI Stock. I have removed the butt plate, spring tube cap and rod, but I am now bemused. This is where the fixings appear different to the MKI stock. How do I remove the tube at this point? After its removal, then I guess its gentle persuasion to remove the stock?
Any ideas please.

The butt should now pull off the return spring tube although I'd remove the L shaped spring that helps hold the return spring tube nut on so it doesn't scrape on the threads the nut fits on.
The tube itself comes off after the butt is off.
If tha needs any manuals, parts lists , FTR instructions we've a fair few scanned in as well as some DD(E)s for related kit and the odd non presure bearing part.

Tom,
thanks for the pointer, with a small amount of persuasion and a small rubber mallet the stock came off, now to clean the cosmolene off!
