Well folks for reasons of her own the wife bought a Aussie Vickers and tripod today. The guns 1941 dated (will do the serials etc bit when the cosmo is off) and was FTRed in 1951 and then by the look of it not touched again till now except for deac'ing in 1994. The tripod is 43 dated and the legs need a lick of paint.
I won't be competeing with you fellers for the fancy bits but I will get her the basics to display it with, water can, hose, and a box/belt of innerts and I'll restore the boxes when I get a chance.
Well, at least I have something to display the Besa on when I have a adapter made up ;-{D)

Well, well, well!
If you need any help or advice then I think you know where to come!
Good to hear it anyway (some people say the women have all the sense)

Cheers!
I'll be attempting to restrict myself to Aussie kit (except where its cheap!) so I won't start to go rogue and be looking for every varriation!
Theres this great big dovetail on the side and I'm sure every time I look at it it gets bigger... and theres these whispering noises, it sounds like "fill me, fill me..."
So if anyone knows of good (cheap!) sources of the basics I will be profoundly grateful to know where and how much (gulp). All I have so far is a few Mk I oil cans and a funny little adjustable spanner, which looks like one in a book and has been kicked by the crow.
Why do I have this strange feeling of vertigo...
