As I have been unable to find a true L4 barrel in the US, I have decided to make my own. I was recently able to aquire a flash hider and a complete L4 ejector block and SA .308 barrels are available in the US. I figure I can turn the proper profile onto the SA chrome lined barrel and make a repo L4A3.
Is the profile identical to the MKIII? and is the length the same as the MKIII?
Thanks

Thanks Hi,the MK3 Bren (MK4 barrel) is too short. It's also reduced in diameter behind the carry handle where the L4 series is not. The SA 7.62 made barrels are also shorter than the the L4 and you would have to machine the diameter of the barrel down in front of the carry handle. You would have to leave some material to machine a barrel location keyway also. Hope this makes sense ATB Kevin
