I picked up a bag of 500 Browning links a while back labelled as being for .303 British ammunition. I was sorting them out last night ready to start linking a couple of belts up when I noticed I had at least two distinct types:
Parkerised, marked DAO Blued, marked BP BII
Are either of them proper .303 links?
While I'm at it, I've been cleaning up my .50 BMG links I fished out of a dustbin at Beltring a couple of years ago. Thank you to the German re-enactors who were using .50 cal blank through their 20mm AA cannon. ;D They are all marked DS B2, which I'm guessing are British made M9 pattern links. [anorak] I'd love to make my .50 cal belts up with correct WWII-spec M2 links but they are a tad rare and pricey these days. [/anorak]
All the best, PB

I've just got NATO .50 links hanging out of my gun, do you know of a source for .50 cal bullet heads? I've got a number of cases but no heads.

You will probably find several different markings on the Browning .303 links. The .303 were made in the UK and Canada. Markings run from BP to PBII and PBIII

I have a pile of the 50 cal links USGI, not sure of the date though, I would be interested in any of the 303 links you do not need.
I'm in the US but links are not a problem to ship here.
email me at: barrelxchange@aol.com if you're interested in a trade or something
Thanks

Hello
I think theses links are ggod for British Browning in .303
B.P. = British Pens Ltd
A friend said that M1/B.P. stamp are for .30 links For .303 they will be stamped with B.P./B1, ou JP/BI
So your BP BII look to be good. maybe late war or after war ?
If you want to sale a litle of them ... i look for 10 or 20 links (Or more !) for my MKII*

The BP marked links are 303. The "DAO " links are 30 cal, made by Dominion in Canada. Happy to take the 303 links off your hands if you don't need them. I have plenty of trading material..... My MKII Browning is always looking for spares and links.....

For those of you of British persuasion, I have a whole pile of 50 cal ( 50 BMG, not 303, yes I know the difference) "BP" marked M9 links that came on a large batch of RG sourced 50 cal ammunition. Ammo was fired up for testing and I go the brass and links. Brass goes to scrap, but if anyone over there is interested in links, PM me. Trades are always welcome, as I am in need of parts and acc for just about anything: Lewis, Vickers, MK II 303, BREN, STEN, Hotchkiss 1914, Hotchkiss MK I,
