The best part, is that the gun that went with it, was supposedly thrown in a lake on a country estate. The owner who had been the officer in charge of the local Home Guard unit, had kept it and was using it to shoot pidgeons! Following complaints to the local Police, he finally had it dumped in the ornamental lake and the tripod ended up with the lawnmowers,Pete.

Pete, Is this the one that was on ebay a few years back, found in the groundkeepers shed? Wish I'd the money to bid on it!

Yes it is, we have done some research to try and narrow down the estate, as the gun may be still in the lake.The estate was in Leicestershire. The under bidder was BMG parts in the US.
