The contents of the chest varied over the years but here is a reasonable list of what was were stored in the chest
In addition to the Gun, the following : Second (not spare) Barrel, Holdall & Contents (including Spare Parts Wallet & Contents), one Magazine, Cleaning Rod.

OK from standing in front of the box, lid open
Across lid Mk IIB or V steel cleaning rod. In the two round holes, to left of where gun is, chamber cleaning brush and mop (Mk Is fit, Mk IIs poke out but still go there)
Along the inside of the front of the box goes a wooden cylinder cleaning rod, The two part Mk I at first and then the single section Mk I* or Mk II. They later made the wooden catch longer to hold just the one section. Early boxes would also have a mag loading tool at the left of the box on the floor. Another short lived bit was a recyled Lewis oil can the went in the centre of the bottom of the box. Gun and second barrel in the obvious places in the middle. One magazine on the far right. Wallet and gun cover stuffed in where ever they will fit. Holdals weren't in general use until 1941 due to the MillsEquipment Co being blown up although some were around in 1940. It would get stuffed in there, along with anyother bits like 4 by 2.
Am I missing owt?
I keep threatening to do a pespex fronted box like one at Warminster but never get around to. If I had the money I'd have one made from scratch from the factory drawings for my Mk II to go in, would look rather nice all polished up out of a fancy wood, polished steel fittings...
