The picture is poor but the seller claims this is a Vickers MG cover/bag. Can anyone here confirm this?

No comments? Shall I allow the argumentum ad ignorantiam fallacy to stand? That is, in spite of this post, not a single report of such bag has been authenticated. We may assume, therefore, there is no such things as a Vickers bag or cover.

Hi Todd
You may well be correct BUT we are discovering new things everyday - including in the collecting fields.
If you could share the dimensions with us they may indicate at least if a Vickers of some or other Mk/config. would fit into it.
Cheers

Todd,
I had hoped somebody would give a definitive answer. It is not something I have seen before but, as Peter says, there is always a chance. There are many things in the accessories lists that I don't have positive identification for and that could be one of these.
Dimensions are needed!
Regards
Richard

Whilst it would fit a Vickers overall, it isn't shaped to do so. The only bag I have in the collection is shaped quite closely to fit the gun, including having a shaped foreend to accept the muzzle attachment.
It looks more like a piece of wireless kit to me. I may be wrong and it would be great if that bag was for the Vickers, with the small case on the side for the barrel but I can't think what the square pocket would be for - there is a similar square pocket on the side of the rifle valise.

It looks very similar to the later Aerial bag for the 27ft mast , I wonder if this could be an earlier version.Could the WTS have a Wireless transmitter connection? Pete.
