I have a MKIII that I will be getting engraved. I am hoping somene can provide me with a pencil rub of an Enfield MKIII. It could be scanned and email to me so I can get the proper font, scale, and placement.
I will use the scan to program the cnc.
Thanks

Is it originally a Mk3 or is it a mk2 machined up to look like a Mk3? If its a Mk3 but is a rewelded dewat, depending on the serial number and date, it could be Marked as Mk3 or MkIII? How much of a rush are you in? Cheers, Chris.

It’s a mixed bag. It was in three pieces when I got it. Rear and front are MKIII and the center section was a MKII. After I welded it together I had to do some machining on it to blend the diff sections together.
I was planning on using the "mk3" nomenclature.
No real big hurry, just need to get it done so I can finish the project.

would a photo with a ruler help and give scale? Does it retain its original number or is it scrubbed?

The receiver # is for the most part illegible. What I can kind of make out is an A_01430. The barrel lock has DL55A1320 crossed out and remarked DP7283. Obviously this is a mix master of parts.
A photo with a ruler would be helpful but ideally a pencil rub would be best. The reason being I can scan the image, and replicate the inconstancies in the font that occurs with a pantograph. Other wise just using a regular font would be to perfect.

I'll see what I can do.
It sounds like you gun is a Ex Idian gun. They remarked there DP guns with new serial number and most are in the 7*** range. The A_01430 is I believe the number of a Indian made mk3.
The number DL55 A1320 maybe UE55A1320 which would be a UK Enfield, if it is DL, I've no idea where the DL abbreviation is from.
