I've put some pictures of my MKII Inglis Bren onto my website if anyone would like to see them. 1943 Inglis MKII...Any comments on it most welcome. I know it has the correct Canadian bipod however what about the butt, the butt I believe is correct but what about the butt plate, is this correct for a Canadian gun or not or should it have the metal extension bit on the top of it for the shoulder?

Both are nice guns TB The MkII appears correct in all respects. BGS shows factory and Pattern Room pics of Inglis MkIIs with both styles of butt plate so no concern there. Cheers

Cheers Thanks Peter, I'm well pleased with them. Out of interest does anyone know who the factory code of S26 belongs to? There are a couple of parts on the MKII with S26 on them so I'm guessing this is a UK wartime factory code, I've gone thru' the lists of what I have but I don't have an S26 on them. The bits with the S26 stamped on are the bit that the gas regulator fits into and the barrel sleeve bit the carrying handle fits onto. Cheers Mike

Does anyone know if there is a website or anything that shows the list of British WW2 manufacturers codes? I have managed to get a few over the years but it's not very many compared to what there must of actually been? Mike

I don't know of an online source, but a full(?) listing of the codes is in the following book by Ian Skennerton: BRITISH SMALL ARMS OF WORLD WAR 2 - The Complete Reference Guide to Weapons, Maker’s Codes & 1936 - 1946 www.skennerton.com/edgedweapons.htmlMark
