It certainly seems to be! I've one in my collection.
The two loops on the straps hang onto the packsaddlery hangers.
Any evidence of a date or markings on that one?
Regards
Richard

Thank you for helping to confirm that it probably is what the seller claimed. I just purchased it from an online source. When I receive the case, I will post the date.

If it's like mine, a date will be hard to find. It's a nice bit of kit to have in the collection.

I received the case today. It’s in quite nice condition. There are few markings however there are some difficult to read characters on the strap that secures the cover. These marking might be:
22 [an ampersand-like character] 19
Any ideas of what these markings might indicate?

Not off the top of my head. I'll have a look on mine to see if I can see any there.

I take away from Goldsmith that all of the bags are of WWI vintage. There are a two sets of numbers stamped or scratched into the leather. For the most part, these look like serial numbers but all miss the typical leading letter. There is also a set of letters poorly scratched into the top. I'll try to get pictures.picture
