I have acquired a piece of kit for which I can't find any ref. on Google.
It consists of two pages 17cm wide and 20cm high (+- 2mm thick cream coloured plastic), wire bound marked on front :
POLARMETER
MARK I
U.K.P. Ltd
O. S. 1339 A.
It has a rotating disk plotter board type thing on the inside page with Date Scale, Time Scale etc. etc. and the instrutions mention "Observer" and "Manual of Artillery Survey" and "TO OBTAIN THE BEARING OF THE POLE STAR FOR ANY TIME AND DATE (BEFORE 1948) AT ANY PLACE BETWEEN LATITUDE 10 DEGREES N AND 60 DEGREES N"
Any gunners out there who can shed any light on this item?
