i woud like to know aswell what type of strap was fitted to the box.
at the moment just have 2 standerd 37 patt utilly straps.
maybe sombody could post a picture of the buckles and the fitting to the side of the box.

I use, and have seen used, utility straps (i.e. 1937 pattern large pack straps) as extensions so can see no reason why not to use them as a replacement - seems a realistic field expedient.
If necessary, I can measure and photograph the originals I have and see about having some reproductions made but I think the clips would be prohibitive.

Thanks Richard, I would certainly like to see an original one. I have some extra P37 Web Straps an may be able to make up a strap, as the one on mine is to short to use "over the shoulder"  The one on mine seems to be just a single rifle sling with buckles at the ends to keep it in place. Chuck |
