I am at the stage in my restoration of a "no-firing" 1916 manufatured Vickers MG and 1916 dated MK IVA tripod where I am trying to match the shade of green I would need to repaint the water jacket and tripod.
Looking at pics of Mr. Fisher's WWI Vickers and tripod posted under Accessories - Mountings and Related Items, has anyone compiled what the paint formual is to replicate that shade of green at a commercial paint supplier or know of a supplier that sells the paint? Is this shade a "flat" or semi-gloss" color? I reside in the U.S.
I know that in the trenches, many MGs were repainted in a brownish shade but I am hoping to replicate the green shade as Mr Fisher's Vickers are painted.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I no longer have the paint code as it was on some documents I've lost but it am reliably informed it is very close to "Vickers Middle Bronze Green" - a quick google search will get you the right code for what your suppliers can work with.

Richard

PS - It should be a Matt finish.
Thank you for the kind comments on the website.
