Are these disintegrating links and would these be usable with 7.62x54R ammunition?

These are disintegrating links developed for the South Afrcian conversion of the Vickers to 7.62NATO (7.62X51) caliber.
They are of interest to ammu/link collectors and owners/shooters of the conversion kits, especially in the USA, and here of course.
They will not accept 7.62X54R cartridges which is much closer to .303" shape and dimensions.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Would love to find a 7.62 Nato set up for my Vickers here in the USA.
7.62x54R is a fairly inexpensive conversion here and the ammo is cheap and easy to find.
Been many years since I lived in Johannesburg, South Africa, had a great time there (1969 - 1971).

7.62X54R does seem to be the way to go and it appears a number of US based shooters are going that route.
Building a conversion seems easy enough as the cartridges are very similar and all the parts needed are readily available from IMA & SARCO amongst others.
The extractor would need to be opened up a bit, the feed block may work 'as is' and a .303" barrel could be converted simply by running a 7.62X54R chamber reamer into it - nothing chromed in there.
PKM belts would probably work fine too.
How's that for a lekker 2011 project.

Hi Peter, That is similar to how I went. We opened up the extractor and did a small amount of grinding on the feedblock. While the most inexpensive way to go is to ream a .303 barrel, I chose to purchase a nice 1910 Finnish Maxim 7.62x54R barrel from IMA and had Bob Naess mill it so it fits in a Vickers.
I probably will go the belt PKM route, unfortunately the belts have to be cut down to 10 round lengths as they are considered high capacity magazines if longer and are prohibited in California (some exceptions exist).
It is a lekker set up! Forgive my poor Afrikaans.

Good evening and greetings from Australia,
Wondering if you can help? We are creating a party prop of an M60 and was enquiring if you had any M13 links (ok old and used), we need links for say 100 "dummy" rounds, can you assist, if so please quote price and postage to NSW 2450 Australia.
Look forward to your response and regards

Peter - I would be interested in as many of the Vickers Links as you might have available. I am located in the US. for those in need, I have M13 links, but I do not know how successful we will be in sending them out of the US. For those running 54R in a Browning, the links you need are the Israeli type Browning 7.62 links. these work quite sell. For use of %4R in a Vickers, the cloth belts work best. I have one of Troys conversions in a 1919A4 and it runs like a top. I have Bob Naess's Vickers conversion and it runs well too.
