I am restoring my Nov. 1915 built (serial #L2263) Vickers MG to correct WWI configuration ( as is possible). It is a non-firing display gun that I had purchased from IMA in New jersey, USA back in 2005.
It came with a WWII Australian rear sight MK III with the thumbpiece added to the knob.
I have a VSM marked MK II rear sight stem with the "U" aiming notch and small tightening knob. Is this correct for my 1915 gun or do I need the earlier Maxim type MK I slide?
Thank you in advance for any info.

Will,
The Mk. I slide would be more appropriate; however, I'm only aware of the one that is on my gun and have not seen any others come on the market. It might be best that you stick with the one you have, which would be correct for late-1916 onwards I think.
Regards
Richard
