WWI Feed Block - Brass or Steel

As I am nearing the completion of my restoration of a 1915 dated Vickers mg, I am fitting out the various parts and have a question concerning the type of feedblock. My gun was built at Erith in Nov 1915 (#L2263). What would be the proper feedblock for that period? The earlier steel block, the later brass feed block or the brass feedblock with the steel strip?

A steel feedblock would cover all bases. Without referring to the order books, I'm not sure when the brass feedblock was introduced exactly but I feel a steel would be better.
