Does anyone have or know a source for the brass name plate that went on the rear leg of early WWI MKIV tripods? It can be an original or a reproduction. In restoring my 1916 MKIV, I stripped off all the old paint and uncovered the screw holes for the plate on the rear leg. I am in the U.S.
Thank you.

I forgot to state that my1916 tripod was manufactured by R. Hornsby & Sons Ltd. I am looking for a RH&S brass plate. I came across a repro plate that said Vickers Sons & Maxim London 1916. Not sure if this is correct.

IMA Inc have had them available in the past. I haven't checked their site recently (always seems to cost me a lot of money when I do!) but worth taking a look. They were reproduction in brass I think.

Richard

Thanks Richard. IMA is out of the Vickers plates, only have the Colt M1915 tripod plate. BMGParts in USA has a brass repro Vickers tripod plate - www.bmgparts.com/products/vickersdataplate.jpgLink to picture. Does this look correct? I know the correct plate for my tripod would be a RH&Sons plate. But since that is not available, I was thinking of using the BMG plate.

Both IMA and BMG Parts in the U.S. no longer have stock of the repro tripod plate for rear leg. Any other possible sources? the Gnner in UK?

There is likely to be residual stock in other places. I intended to take a look at the original (and repros) I have yesterday but I wasn't able to. I'll try tomorrow and see what I've got. If necessary, I'll investigate making some up myself but would probably have to be white metal as I don't have the ability to reproduce brass items.

Thanks Richard - I am posting on M1919A4.com too. I have e-mailed the Gunner and waiting for a reply.
