I wonder if anyone can help? I am trying to make my Vickers as Great War as is possible and apart from the rear tangent sight I think that the next article I need is the two piece elevation dial that clamped over the elevating wheel on the MK IV tripod. I think after careful study, that about 90% of photos from this era show these in place, but I should imagine the real item is almost impossible to get hold of so I am considering having one cast for myself. Although I can get all the details that I need of the face side, the underside with the clamping attachments is proving rather more dificult and although I could guess at these, whilst I am making the plugwork it may as well be correct. If anyone could supply a photo or drawing of the underside with perhaps an overall diameter I should be most grateful, Rangefinder

Is that Nigel?
I will dig mine out at the weekend and take a photo of the underside for you if you want?

Dear Richard, I assume that in all this super weather you will have had far better things to do than photograph an elevation dial, just one thing though, is yours a real one and if so how on earth did you come by it? Looking forwards to seeing those rear details, yours, Rangefinder.

Sorry Nigel, totally forgot to post the photos. They are taken but just forgot to post them. It is a real one and I bought it earlier this year as part of a large collection of items.
Regards
Richard

They should now be available on my website. Go to 'Accessories' then 'Sighting Kit'. I have also added a photo of the Mk. I Direction Dial which I have as well.

Dear Richard, thanks so very much for the elevation dial photos, sorry not to have replied earlier but have been hiking in Swiss Alps. I should not have imagined the rear to be constructed like that at all, most usefully, yours, Rangefinder.
