Hi folks just picked this up at the carboot for £30 as I needed something I could bolt to the floor for secure storage. I'm going to clean it down to the bare metal and repaint it but in the mean time since I suspect it is UK issue, where abouts would the broad arrow be stamped if it is? Its pretty caked with rust and paint so unless its pretty big I could miss it easily. No fuss if its not as it's perfect for my perposes, theres holes in the base for the screws to go through. I suspect that it was for pay or secure documents. Anyone recognise the type? ATB Tom

Hi Tom. I believe it is an Army Paymaster's safe for use in the field. I have a more or less similar unit that is US issue. It is in black with gold US painted on the door, key locked with lever operated shoot bolts.
