This item was sold to me as "Lewis Blank Adaptor". Having scratched my head a few times and tried to fit it somehwere to the gun and Magazine, I have come to the conclusion that it is NOT for the Lewis or Vickers K. Dimensions - 140mm diameter and 1.2mm thick. Steel plate, brass bracket, copper rivets. No markings at all. Any ideas? Bren drum? TIA

Peter, the Lewis magazine adapter for blank ammo was a circular plate with a notch out of it for feeding, which fitted onto the magazine rotor to support the noses of the short Mk V blanks in a single layer. Your plate does not have the neccessary notch for feeding so is clearly not for the Lewis. I cannot see any way that it could be adapted to the Bren or K mags as they are fully enclosed. You have a mystery plate that we all need to research!

Thanks Rod. I'm relieved that I'm not the only one stumped by this.

Possibly part of one of the camera guns?

Could be Richard - but it could also be a part of something completely unrelated to firearms or even ther military. Unusual that it has no markings of any sort - very un-British!
I queried it with the seller, Don Bell of Omega in the US, and he is also stumped and suggested I send them back for a refund but it's hardly worth the effort.
