I have just ordered my copy of a new publication which covers accoutrements etc related to the Lewis gun, as per the official List of Changes. The publisher is in Australia, and they have a forthcoming title covering the same thing for the Hotchkiss MG. www.milpubs.com.auRegards AlanD Sydney

Thanks for that Alan. Good heads up.
I'd love to have the resource to do that for the Vickers (and put it all on the website) but work just gets in the way!

After the LoC book on the Hotchkiss comes out, the next one may be on the .5 Vickers. I have got one of these guns a Mk111 in my collection, but the only accessorie I have is a RN marked bore inspecting mirror. Like the one for the .303 rifle but on steroids.

Hello Alan,
The .5-inch accessories are mostly like that. I have a Mk. V and also have the bore mirror, clearing plug etc. Most of it I've found in tubs of .303-inch items but they're just a lot bigger!

The book arrived a few days ago and has a lot more content than I expected. Its 259 pages with a number of illustrations, also a very good index. It starts off in 1891 ending in 1946. There is a lot of cross over with the Hotchkiss, Bren and Vickers. It also has a list of which LoC volume contained which LoC and the year, something I have not seen before.

Well I have received my book and have been poring over it.......I have learned a grat deal as there is a wealth of information in it not found in other books as far as I know. Very nicely done, and at least in my opinion well worth the price.
