I spent some time yesterday at our local Army range running some tests on SMG suppressors. ;D I had my MP5A5 there (Pakistani made) with a locally made suppressor, and my L34A1 as a comparasion. The local product is quite compact (about 8" x 1-3/4") and locks onto the three-lug system on the MP5. It was quite comfortable on the ears in an enclosed space with supersonic 115gr ammo, and with the subsonic 147 gr load was as almost as quiet as the L34A1 on normal ammo.
Interestingly, my Pakistani MP5 has never missed a beat, and I have noticed this with two others I have tried in the past. Sadly, I cannot say the same for the several German-made H&K examples I have tried, which have all given problems at some stage. The L34A1 just kept on chugging away as you would expect!
