I think its the Rod, cleaning, .303-inch, M.G. Mk II LoC 17581 of Oct 1915 thats being refered to, the drawing is AID 1075A, When the Bren came along it became the MK II"A" as they just took the metal bush off to make the Mk II"B" proper to the Bren and Besa (LoC B1526 of March 1938 for the change name) Also theres a LoC A 3312 reference but that just refers to a minor change in the desination.
Sorry can't give you a lenght myself as perversely I don't have a Mk IIA or B, a bucket of other rods but not those two. So if anyone has a nice one spare, no bush required ;-{D)

Bugger! I knew there was something I had to do when I went up to the collection today. I'll try to get up there tomorrow.

HI I assume its a Mk2 34inchs long Canadian arrow? also is the oil tin in the picture a vickers/lewis one I purchased it from Ireland it has small broad arrow on spout, the bottom of the tin has been defaced to remove large broad arrow and makers roundel I can just make out the arrow and Birmingham from looking into the tin, I believe this defacing of some British marked equipment was common in Ireland in the 1920`s Cheers Terry Pics added s1141.photobucket.com/albums/n581/smle/vickers/

Hi, its missing the metal bush so technically thats a Mk IIB for the Bren, The C arrow signifiers ownership rather than manufacture, are there any other stamps on it? I'm not up on Vickers kit so can anyone say which country it came from originally? It could have been made as a Bren rod or just have lost the bush at some point?
Sorry I have a thing for rods, anorak that I am

Hi Terry,
I've just got around to measuring one of those in my collection. It's 32 3/4 inches in total, with 31 1/4 inches exposed length.
Hope this helps.
