Can anyone shed light on these 2 Ammo box brackets I recently dug up. One is the size of the normal No.9 (I think) box, the other is much bigger. Any help is much appeciated as I cant find any reason for a bigger carrier.

No. 8 box was more common but was the same shape as the No. 9 so will let you off!!
Bigger carrier might be earlier as the wooden boxes are slightly larger. I've seen some photos of locally made brackets that vary in size so might be a mix of the two.
Where did they come from?

My box bracket is the long version as well, except in tidy condition.

Tom,
I'll have to check what I've got as I know you sent me most. Just getting round to sorting out the VB information for the website. Did you ever manage to dig out the manuals and other bits you had?
PM me if you did.
Rich
