Does anyone out there have a Mk II or 3 Bren in which there are two unusual holes on the underside of the butt slide between the front mounting pin and the ejection opening?
One hole will be threaded to receive a pistol grip bolt and the other smaller and smooth sided.
And on the vague subject has anyone yet found a original Owen fore grip with the additional, steel, part to fit on the front mounting pin as used on Mk 3 Brens in Malaya and L4A4s in Borneo?

Hi Tom, I've never come across a lower like that but I'll keep an eye out now. I assume the smooth sided hole was for a locating peg or dowl to stop the for grip rotating.

Yup it was for a anti rotation pin. I've dug out the pics I took of the one Laidler did and theres also a reinforcing plate on the inside. I won't put it up as he will no doubt be covering it in his book.
Does anyone have a realy detailed pic of the Owen foregrip version as I once aquired a spare grip to convert?
