I came upon a single brass cap & early style tin shafted brush yesterday. Marked with +- 5mm high 'P & P' and crows foot, usual knurled edge. Unattached to a gun so no clues there as to origins, vintage etc.
This is a new one to me. Any ideas?

Hello Peter,
I have just joined up on this Forum and browsing through old posts ran across this one. I have the answer to your question. The P&P marking is found on some of the small oil tins, as used with the Vickers. The oil can is the one found in the leather case, spare parts. P&P is a makers mark and on the one I have this is impressed in the cap and on the bottom of the tin. I do not know who the manufacturer P&P is unfortunately. Hope this helps. Regards, Mac
