I’m currently looking at a Pre 95 (old spec) deactivated Bren. Can anyone confirm how liberal the London Proof House was with stamps then? I would expect to see them on the receiver, barrel, piston and bolt. Is that correct??
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul, I can't tell you where the London house were supposed to put them but I can tell you that I have a number of london proofed Brens from differing dates and there dosn't appear to be much continuity. Some of the blocks are marked, some on the cut face and some arn't at all. I can confirm that all my receivers are marked but again, the marks are in varying places. There was a date that specified that the stamp had to be near to the serial number that was found on the cert but I can't remember it.
ATB, Chris.

Thanks Chris
I walked away in the end, the deact stamps on the internals didn't match the externals, plus there was no certificate...
cheers Paul
