hey fellas, i bought an fn fal l1a1 from tapco years ago and forgot what type it is, a gun kit. everything minus the stripped receiver. can anyone shine light on this gun? serial is ad6705974. i believe the ad stands for Austrian defense? im also looking to complete the gun with a receiver and prob sell. thanks in advance. - mike mikeyhos2000@yahoo.com

Mickeyhos, what you have is the parts from an L1A1 made by Lithgow in Australia in 1967. AD is believed to stand for Australian Defence. Your rifle is the 5974th one made in 1967 and was one of a batch made for the Australian Army (AD6703012 - AD6708176).

I have a l1a1 with serial number AD 6423185 , it also has a 7 point star with an A stamped inside it with a number 2 underneath near the butt .there are a couple of arrow like stamps on the rifle , and stamped on the underneath of the barrel is .. bnp 7.62 x 51mm, and 2 crossed swords . Any information would be much appreciated.
