Hi, Without doubt, a bayonet for the Sterling SMG! But, with steel grips, no "Sterling" on the blade like the commercial models, markings BSA C and a plastic scabbard. Any idea? Thanks, Luc

Hi, received this answer from ralph@worldbayonets.com
Hi Luc, Your bayonet is a Commercial No. 5, as made for sale with the Sterling. Sterling bayonets can be found with wood, metal, or plastic grips. The pommel is a spare service BSA No. 5 Mk. I pommel that was used in assembling the bayonet. In all likelihood, your bayonet was assembled for Sterling by Hopkinson Ltd. The scabbard is the L3A1 plastic scabbard, which was used as a substitute for the steel No. 5 scabbard. The bayonets are uncommon, but not too scarce. The scabbard is pretty scarce. I have not encountered any on my side of the pond. Ralph
